Some of y`all got pretty whipped up about a Taco Bell with fast `n` easy taco delivery methods this week. I see you. But let`s take that easy livin` energy to where it really matters: canned cocktails.

Are they the best invention since a Dad came up with the phrase "it`s noon somewhere"? Perhaps.

Tattersall Distilling Co. has been working for nearly three years on their line of canned cocktails. They`ve been releasing seasonal ready-to-drink (easier to just say RTD) bottled cocktails for a while, from the Bootlegger to the Salty Dog. But the move to Wisconsin made it more affordable to use distilled alcohol instead of the more common malt product, which is taxed differently in each state....

Neenah`s Lion`s Tail Brewing is converting the former Wisconsin Garden & Pet Supply, 8520 W. North Ave., into a brewery and taproom, which should be ready to open by September. We stopped in for an update.

This year, the brewery will welcome 1,000 beer lovers and 50 breweries to its massive beer garden for a one-of-a-kind festival that celebrates IPAs, the most popular style of beer in the country.

Any Wisconsin brewery is welcome to attend the event and show off their best IPAs.

Local effort raises $30,000 for war relief

A crowd of more than 1,000 showed up at Wisconsin Brewing Company in Verona on Sunday to drink Ukrainian beer in a fundraiser for the war-torn country.

More than 1,000 craft beer enthusiasts filled Wisconsin Brewing Company’s beer garden on April 24 to support Ukraine in the war with Russia. The beer festival raised $30,000 in relief funds for Ukraine, with more donations expected. The fest featured five beers based on Ukrainian recipes made by Madison breweries with recipes from the Pravda brewery in Lviv, Ukraine, in a worldwide project called “Brew for Ukraine.”

Lakefront Brewery is planning a series of upgrades on its Riverwalk beer garden in time for next summer.

The changes include an outdoor overlook at the dining room level, opening up the stairs to the lower Riverwalk, permanent  restrooms for beer garden guests, more outdoor coverings, and a more functional outdoor bar. 

The city Plan Commission on Monday approved the improvements. Lakefront hopes to begin the upgrades after Labor Day weekend.

"One thing last year was I could tell how much people like the area that we created outside," said Lakefront Brewery President Russ Klisch. "It`s very popular, and we`re looking to upgrade it." ...

Friday, Oct. 15

Rookery Brewing Company is taking over a few of the taps at New Barons Brewing Cooperative (2018 S. 1st St.) from 4 to 9 p.m. They’ll be selling bottles of Renard Rouge Flanders-Style Red and Viola Sororia, a rye barrel aged farmhouse ale.

1840 Brewing Company (342 E . Ward St. ) has a pair of beer releases. Presale starts at 9 a.m. for Creepfunk Haze DIPA and Damsel Gose, a kettle sour wheat ale made with sea salt, pink peppercorns, pink guava, pineapple and hibiscus.

Saturday, Oct. 16

It’s Limb Shaker Day at Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.) from 2 to 8 p.m. The block party includes music, food and the release of Limb Shaker, a Belgian-style tripel made with Door County cherries.

The Tap Yard-Waukesha (1150 W. Sunset Dr.) is hosting the first annual Waukesha Taco Festival. From noon to 8 p.m. there will be 10 food trucks serving tacos at the Tap Yard.

The Wisconsin Brewery Running Series comes to The Fermentorium (7481 WI-60 Trunk, Cedarburg) at 11 a.m. Run a 5K, and drink a free beer.

The 1840 Brewing Traveling Beer Garden Show wraps up the season at Sandy Knoll Park (2064 Wallace Lake Rd., West Bend).

The grand opening of the Milwaukee Central Waters Brewing location (1037 E. Juneau Ave.) begins at 11 a.m. Expect a special beer or two and a sizable crowd. Central Waters is a great addition to the local brewery scene.

Sunday, Oct. 17

The Museum of Beer & Brewing is hosting the Celebration of Brewers dinner at Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery (917 W. Juneau Ave.) from 5 to 8 p.m. During the evening, the Karl Strauss Award will be given to an individual or firm that has contributed significantly to the progress and perfection of the art of brewing.

The Milwaukee Brewers begin the playoffs this week and there are plenty of beer events to help celebrate.

On Wednesday evening, the Wauwatosa Planning Commission unanimously approved a plan for Neenah’s Lion’s Tail Brewing to combine four properties into one at the former Wisconsin Garden and Pet site, 8520 W. North Ave., and to open a brewery and taproom in the two buildings on the site.

The plan will require approval from the city’s design review board and, of course, must comply with all city zoning and other regulations.

Saturday’s Wisconsin IPA Fest is one big reason to be glad that you’re a craft beer fan this week.

For live music enthusiasts, there`s nothing quite like feeling the music flowing around and through you. After a seemingly interminable past year, shows are returning, both outdoors and indoors.

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN – MobCraft Beer and 414 Flowers are working together to host a pop up beer garden on Thursday, May 27 from 4:00-7:00pm.  The beer garden will be hosted at 414 Flower’s newest pop up garden and greenhouse located at 209 E. National Avenue (across the street from Allie Boy’s Bagelry & Luncheonette).  The pop up beer garden will feature MobCraft Beer, plant shopping, music from Milwaukee Airwaves, food from La Merenda, and ice cream from Purple Door Creamery.

MobCraft Beer has resided in Walker’s Point since the summer of 2016.  This is the first year 414 Flowers has a Walker’s Point location.  414 Flowers also operates two locations at the Wauwatosa and Bayview Outposts. When asked about why 414 Flowers decided to establish a pop up in Walker’s Point, owner George Holtz responded, “Choosing to add our third location to Walker’s Point was simple.  Walker’s Point is a fast growing, diverse neighborhood known for its nightlife scene.
