10 Beer Events Brewing in Milwaukee This Week: Oct. 13-17


Friday, Oct. 15

Rookery Brewing Company is taking over a few of the taps at New Barons Brewing Cooperative (2018 S. 1st St.) from 4 to 9 p.m. They’ll be selling bottles of Renard Rouge Flanders-Style Red and Viola Sororia, a rye barrel aged farmhouse ale.

1840 Brewing Company (342 E . Ward St. ) has a pair of beer releases. Presale starts at 9 a.m. for Creepfunk Haze DIPA and Damsel Gose, a kettle sour wheat ale made with sea salt, pink peppercorns, pink guava, pineapple and hibiscus.

Saturday, Oct. 16

It’s Limb Shaker Day at Gathering Place Brewing (811 E. Vienna Ave.) from 2 to 8 p.m. The block party includes music, food and the release of Limb Shaker, a Belgian-style tripel made with Door County cherries.

The Tap Yard-Waukesha (1150 W. Sunset Dr.) is hosting the first annual Waukesha Taco Festival. From noon to 8 p.m. there will be 10 food trucks serving tacos at the Tap Yard.

The Wisconsin Brewery Running Series comes to The Fermentorium (7481 WI-60 Trunk, Cedarburg) at 11 a.m. Run a 5K, and drink a free beer.

The 1840 Brewing Traveling Beer Garden Show wraps up the season at Sandy Knoll Park (2064 Wallace Lake Rd., West Bend).

The grand opening of the Milwaukee Central Waters Brewing location (1037 E. Juneau Ave.) begins at 11 a.m. Expect a special beer or two and a sizable crowd. Central Waters is a great addition to the local brewery scene.

Sunday, Oct. 17

The Museum of Beer & Brewing is hosting the Celebration of Brewers dinner at Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery (917 W. Juneau Ave.) from 5 to 8 p.m. During the evening, the Karl Strauss Award will be given to an individual or firm that has contributed significantly to the progress and perfection of the art of brewing.
