It`s not just seasonal ingredients that Milwaukee distillers are incorporating into new, limited-run spirits for fall and the holidays. Beer plays a role, too.Aged brandy from Central Standard Central Standard Craft Distillery has released the first spirit in its brewmasters series, called Toppling Goliath aged brandy. The Milwaukee distiller used barrels that Toppling Goliath Brewing of Decorah, Iowa, had used to age stout. The barrels, which originally were bourbon barrels used to age maple syrup in northern Wisconsin, are said to impart hints of espresso, chocolate and caramel in addition to maple to Central Standard`s North brandy, according to the downtown Milwaukee distiller`s announcement. ...more | ||
